Dame Bianca Ojukwu's Siblings criticize Ojukwu's Sons over Senatorial Ambition

The brothers and sisters of Dame Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu- Ojukwu, have criticized some of the children of the former Biafran leader for not supporting Bianca’s senatorial ambition.

Bianca Ojukwu is presently seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance to represent Anambra South Senatorial District in the Senate.

However some of her late husband’s older children have vowed not to support her candidacy, should she emerge as APGA’s standard bearer for the election.

Some members of the Ojukwu family, including Dr. Ike Ojukwu, Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu Jnr., and Chief Debe Odumegwu- Ojukwu, reportedly were of the opinion that it would be improper to allow a woman from Ngwo, in Enugu State, to represent Anambra South Senatorial District.

Another reason for not supporting her was that she could in the future marry a man from another state and even doubted her marriage to the late Ikemba.

However, Bianca’s siblings have responded to the attack on their sister.

Speaking on behalf of the family of the late C. C. Onoh, (Bianca’s father), Bianca’s brother, Dr Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, said Ojukwu’s children were ignorant of the Nigerian laws.

Onoh also dismissed the Ojukwu children’s claims that the marriage between their father and Bianca was not contracted in the proper procedure.

Bianca’s brother insisted that the opposition from Ojukwu’s children would not stop Bianca from winning the election.

Bianca Ojukwu hails from Ngwo town, in Enugu State, but was married in Nnewi, Anambra State.
